Questions
Will it try to send me back to the road?
No. Trail Ride follows the GPX you give it and nothing else. Leave the track and it shows where the line is and how far, and you decide how to get back. The only road leg is getting to the start of a track, and that goes to your usual navigation app.
Does it work with no mobile signal?
Yes, once the map for your trip is downloaded. Saved tracks, the map, navigation and recording all work without signal. You only need internet to import from a link and to download the map.
Where do I get GPX tracks?
Anywhere: the Trans Euro Trail, club rides, forum posts, a friend’s file. Paste the link or open the file. No track yet? Press Record and make your own.
Can I use it with gloves on, in full sun?
That’s what it’s designed for: big touch targets, a track line that stays loud, and a Bright sunlight mode that pales the map and thickens the line. The screen can stay awake for the whole ride.
Do I need an account?
No. Install it and import a track. No sign-up, no email, no ads.
Which phones does it run on?
iPhone and Android, from the App Store and Google Play.
