Trail Ride

In testing on iPhone

GPX navigation for offroad motorcycle rides

Import a GPX track — a TET stage, a club ride, a route from a friend — and follow it on the map. If you leave the track, the app shows you the way back.

What it does

Import and organise GPX

Open files or links, or a whole country's TET stages at once. Tracks are grouped into trips, and you can rename, split and export them.

Shows when you're off track

A dashed line points back to the track, with the distance. The app never reroutes you.

Turn warnings

GPX files have no directions, so Trail Ride works out the turns from the track and shows the next one.

Surface per track

How much of a track is gravel, dirt or tarmac, based on OpenStreetMap data.

Readable on the bike

Large buttons for gloves, a mode for bright sunlight, colour options for colour blindness, and light and dark themes.

Getting to the start

Finds the nearest point to join the track, and opens Apple Maps for the road there.

No account, no tracking

Your tracks stay on your phone. There is nothing to sign up for, and no ads.

Status

The iPhone app is being tested by a small group of riders. Android comes later.
